My previous Vitality still works after years of daily use. Could be eight years or more. But, it wasn't holding a charge very well and the brush speed didn't seem to be what it once was. So, I purchased a new unit in mid-September. It now won't turn on consistently. Won't turn off frequently. And it turns on or off at will during use. Totally unacceptable for a "new" product.

After eight years of brushing with us, we'd hope to deliver your mouth with the ease of Oral-B cleaning you've been used to, so we're sorry to hear this is going on. We do want to share with you that when you're done brushing, you’ll need to manually press the on/off switch to turn the toothbrush off, otherwise it will stay switched on. We don’t have an automatic cut-off because you might want to continue brushing to make sure you’ve got as good a clean as you’d like. After all, it’s your toothbrush to use as you wish! Still, we'd like to speak with you further to get you back to the simpler days with us. I love this toothbrush and I've had it for 3-4 years. Every time I go to my dental hygienist she's amazed at how good my teeth look with very little tartar at all (which was not always the case before). This has only been since I started using this toothbrush. And it does all the work!

I bought this toothbrush less than 10 days ago and it lasted 3 days. It stopped taking a charge and is now not working. I called the 800 # listed on similar reviews and was directed to a coupon page on the Oral B website. They would not replace the toothbrush.
